SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Senior Thermal Engineer who will primarily be responsible for assisting in the design, qualification, and assembly of the axiom products. This position reports to Thermal Temperature & Humidity Controls Manager . This role is onsite and will be based at our SSDF facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Space related thermal analysis
Validation of results with hand calculations
Creation and operation of Thermal Desktop Thermal Math Models
Documentation of Work Performed
Component Selection
Component Testing
Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience
MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher or related field required.
5-10 years’ experience with spacecraft thermal analysis or a combined equivalent of education and experience
5-10 years’ experience in equipment specification or similar
Experience with spacecraft active thermal control systems is a plus
Experienced with and comfortable performing hand or spreadsheet calculations
Experience down selecting parts and working with suppliers
Experience with thermal and/or vacuum testing
Essential Functions
Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task
Requirements
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position

Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
