Tri-County Health Care Human Resources Business Partner in Wadena, Minnesota

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for cultivating partnerships with leaders that help continually enhance our ability to achieve results through people. This role supports a wide range of key HR initiatives driving business performance and acts as the point-person for frontline leaders in HR related issues. This role will promote Astera Health's organizational values through human resource management.

This is a full time, exempt position, scheduled at 80 hours bi-weekly. Astera Health offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, life and retirement. The position has the potential to work hybrid, with the knowledge that Astera Health will still require on-site work in Wadena, MN.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain sound understanding of supporting departments financials, culture and engagement, workforce planning, and business goals

  • Facilitate development and implementation of people management and development practices

  • Assess and anticipate human resources related needs for departments, identifying gaps and potential operational issues

  • Partner with leaders on performance improvement and employee engagement

  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation

  • Process and administer leave of absence, FMLA, and ADA accommodations

  • Answers questions regarding benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance

  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance

Competencies required include:

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels within the organization.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Capability of effective planning and priority setting, ability to manage several projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other applications. HRIS experience strongly preferred.

Education and experience required:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field

  • 3-5 years experience in human resources generalist position

  • Or: an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the responsibilities of the job
