Job Summary
Apply electrical design knowledge to the design, development, and production of Wagstaff automated casting equipment.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Evaluate, select and apply design techniques to the design of Wagstaff equipment of moderate to high complexity
- Create design documents necessary for equipment production according to documented design procedures and as directed by the responsible Engineer
- Update and revise electrical drawings per instructions from design reviews, redlines, NPR tags, and so forth
- Prepare and release design documents to manufacturing
- Accurately estimate hours to complete design tasks
- Consistently meet goals with respect to planned hours and production schedule
- Interface with Purchasing, Demand Management, and shop floor personnel as required to effectively design and support the manufacture of equipment as required
- Serve as design level subject matter expert as assigned
- Train other team members in support of departmental processes and equipment design methods
- Provide technical direction and consultation to other team members
- Identify potential design issues and provide possible solutions that minimize impact on productivity, production schedules, and/or the customer
- Ability to implement effective decision-making in a time-sensitive environment
- Exhibit proficiency, efficiency, and competence in completing assigned tasks
- Demonstrated ability to interact constructively and efficiently with others
- Mentor newly hired employees as directed
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
- Abide by company policies
- In order to achieve business objectives, work weeks in excess of 40 hours may be required
Requirements:
- AA or AS Degree in Engineering Technological field or equivalent experience
- Experience with one or more of the following design tools: SOLIDWORKS, SOLIDWORKS Electrical, AutoCAD, ePlan
- 3 years of related design experience
