Robert Half Sr. Collections Specialist in San Francisco, California

Description We are in the search for a proficient Collections Specialist to be part of our team in the Professional Services industry. As a Collections Specialist, you will be based in Boston, Massachusetts, and will be instrumental in managing collections operations, identifying and resolving process issues, and interacting with various levels of management, clients, and staff.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day collections operations for assigned partners, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.

• Identify and resolve problems or issues in processes, implementing solutions that bring substantial results.

• Interface with varying levels of management, clients, and staff, fostering strong professional relationships.

• Interact and support billing attorneys and partners to review the status of unpaid bills.

• Directly contact clients regarding past-due accounts and invoices as requested by the respective billing attorney.

• Monitor payment arrangements to ensure compliance with payment terms, taking appropriate action when required.

• Partner with billing representatives to ensure appropriate collections follow-up.

• Generate and distribute monthly Client Reminder Statements, ensuring that the statements are sent to clients in a timely manner.

• Research and monitor unapplied payments; responsible for processing client refunds when applicable.

• Conduct credit review analyses on clients as needed and prepare reports and analysis on the status of credit and collection matters; provide regular updates to management on these matters.

• Experience as a Collector Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Collections Specialist role or similar position within the Professional Services industry.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create spreadsheets and perform complex data analysis.

• Demonstrated knowledge of billing functions, including invoice generation, payment processing, and account reconciliation.

• Proven experience with collection processes, including contacting customers, negotiating payment plans, and resolving disputes.

• Familiarity with credit control procedures and the ability to assess customer creditworthiness.

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and handle customer inquiries in a professional manner.

• Must have a high level of integrity, accountability, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, to achieve department and company goals.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly.
