Position Description
TheDepartment of Information Systems and Analytics ( ISA ) (https://isa.mccoy.txst.edu) in the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice position starting in Fall 2024. The ISA department offers an undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems with business analytics, information security, and software development concentrations, and a master’s degree in Data Analytics and Information Systems. In addition, the ISA department hosts a university-wide undergraduate minor in Analytics.
We are interested in applicants who have practical experience in the business analytics domain with the potential to contribute to the department’s research agenda by publishing journal articles, collaborating with faculty, supervising students, creating connections with industry and/or state/federal organizations, and bringing applied research opportunities. Practical experience includes experience in industry/non-profit, research centers, or government organizations. The selected applicant should be able to teach and develop graduate and undergraduate courses in analytics, database, and big data management as well as apply their expertise to enhance teaching and student learning. Additional job duties include service at the department, college, university, and professional levels. The selected candidate will be required to teach courses at both the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses.

This position is subject to the availability of funds.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. or D.B.A from an internationally accredited institution in an analytics-related field.
Candidates must be able to meet the AACSB Scholarly Academics qualifications required by the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University.
Candidates must have practical experience in their domain of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
Previously taught analytics courses
Potential to teach database and big data management courses in addition to analytics courses
Potential to publish in business analytics related journals
Potential to establish research collaborations with industry, national research centers, and state/federal agencies
Potential to create industry connections to enhance programs offered by the department
