Job Responsibilities/Duties

Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) seeks an outgoing and team focused Technical Specialist to support implementation of the Enterprise Risk and Opportunity Management process across the organization. Under minimal supervision of the IH Technical Integration manager establish cost-effective technical and programmatic solutions to issues generated by changing programmatic requirements; support technical investigations where appropriate; audit performance to determine effectiveness.

The Technical Specialist's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Coordinate and foster integration across integrated project teams for scope determination, as well as potential cost and schedule impacts regarding risk at the program, project, and enterprise business levels.

Provide technical guidance on problem resolution in support of mission goals.

Provide project support to develop and coordinate and implement IH projects.

Assignments directed to this position are technically challenging, and frequently involve taking a leadership role in resolving and closing issues. Assignments may range from short term focused tasks to large, complex tasks requiring substantial time for resolution and closure.

Create and perform presentations to project teams, internal and external groups, and to senior management.

Lead and/or participate in database quality assurance and IH directed assessments.

Responsible for requirements area management database (DOORs) maintenance/implementation.

Serve as lead for record keeping in compliance with 10 CFR 851. Ensures accurate record keeping; maintains records in accordance with applicable Records Inventory and Disposition Schedules (RIDS).

Participate on organizational improvement team(s) engaged in visible/business sensitive program/project type work involving complex problems and risk involving potential key budget and schedule impacts.

Provide input and participate in programmatic improvement initiatives in support of mission goals. Provide technical and operational input on such items as data bases, reporting media, internal training needs; and

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Grade 18

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in science/engineering, Safety and Health or related field; and Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Grade 19

Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in science/engineering, Safety and Health; or related field and Nine (9) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Grade 20

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in science/engineering, Safety and Health; or related field and Ten (10) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Desired Qualifications

Prior experience working within a DOE complex and/or Hanford

Experience working with analytical equipment, troubleshooting and theory of operations.

Expert level knowledge in computer data analysis, spreadsheets, graphing, tables, calculations, and data automation.

Experience developing presentation materials and conveying technical information both electronically and in person to multiple group sizes and at various levels of an organization

Basic knowledge in areas such as IDAV, SWIHDS, Safety, cause-effect analysis or any other directly related experience.

Experience working in a team environment and reporting to senior level management

Advanced skills in quality control (reporting, databases, deliverables, presentations)

Compensation & Benefits

Grade 18:

Hiring Range Minimum: $104,175

Hiring Range Maximum: $131,425

Grade 19:

Hiring Range Minimum: $114,475

Hiring Range Maximum: $144,325

Grade 20:

Hiring Range Minimum: $126,025

Hiring Range Maximum: $158,875

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
