ICU Medical Payroll Tax Specialist-REMOTE in Plymouth, Minnesota

Position Summary The Payroll Tax Specialist will play a crucial role in guaranteeing accurate and timely payroll tax payments, reporting, and overall compliance across the organization. The expert oversees all aspects of payroll tax operations, stays updated on tax regulations, and implements adjustments to maintain compliance standards. The role requires strong analytical capabilities, an in-depth understanding of payroll tax legislation, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve payroll tax procedures. This role will also supportactivities necessary to complete the processing of the biweekly payroll for Canada, including approving employees’ timecards, review and auditing of payroll reports for accuracy and completeness and preparing payroll journal entries and account reconciliations. Work closely with A 3rdparty, Nethris, who will handle the payroll processing and payments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Awareness of Canada province regulations around employee payroll * Support biweekly Canada regular payroll including timecard approval, review of employee information changes, new hires, terminations, Records of Employment, commission, company car payments and other payroll-related payments. * Reconcile and report remittances to provinces on a biweekly, monthly and/or quarterly basis as required by each agency. * Support year end Canadian payroll process with T-4s & T2200 forms. * Monitor and interpret US federal, state, and local tax laws to ensure compliance. * Stay abreast of regulatory changes and updates systems and processes accordingly. * Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve compliance issues, such as refinement of tax filing forms, magnetic media, and internet filing processes. * Collaborate with ADP to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll tax liabilities. * Reconcile state withholding taxes and state unemployment taxes monthly, quarterly, and annually. * Ensure payroll tax deposits are remitted timely and accurately. * Apply for identification numbers, such as SIT SUI and mandatory localities, when entering new jurisdictions. * Work with ADP to ensure required tax filings are completed accurately and within deadlines. There may be some jurisdictions not filed by ADP so this role will be responsible for filing those jurisdictions. * Work with ADP to complete payroll tax amendments and corrections for state and federal returns. * Work closely with internal stakeholders including Finance, HR, Legal, and Benefits, to address payroll tax related inquiries and issues. * Troubleshoot system issues related to payroll tax calculations. * Reconcile various payroll GL accounts, such as net payroll liability, payroll taxes, paid family taxes, and miscellaneous benefit advance receivables. * Continuously evaluate and enhance payroll tax processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. * Identify opportunities for automation and lead implementation efforts. * Maintain comprehensive documentation of payroll tax processes, policies, and procedures. * Provide backup support for US Payroll team including processing/reviewing of the bi-weekly payroll(s) Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications * Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook * Excellent customer service skills * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Ability to multitask, work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines * High level of attention to detail · Strong organizational skills// * * Education and Experience// * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or equivalent * Minimum 2 years of Canadian payroll experience preferred * Minimum 2 years of US tax experience preferred * Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll processing and systems, ADP preferred / / Minimum Qualifications · Must be at least 18 years of age / / Travel Requirements · Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time// / / Physical Requirements and Work Environment · This is largely a sedentary role · This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment · This position is a Remote position, must have the ability to telework from home. * This role is based remotely; the incumbent may be remote in any state other than Colorado; California; Connecticut; Montana, Maine or New York.* ICU Medical is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
