ManpowerGroup E&I Maintenance Engineer in Pasadena, Texas

Job Title : E& I Maintenance Engineer

Location: Houston, TX

Leads and drives the site’s electrical and instrumentation maintenance and reliability programs which includes power up to 13KV. Supports capital project design and estimation through new equipment specification. Works with both production and maintenance to improve instrumentation reliability and accuracy. Monitors and tracks equipment for end-of-life upgrade or replacement. For critical equipment, works with maintenance to ensure adequate procedures, PMs, spare parts and technician training. Works with stakeholders to have approved primary suppliers for both on/off site repairs and project work.

Responsibilities

  • Attends daily Tier meetings to understand the site’s operational issues and to report status of return to standard and/or continuous improvement activities relating to E&I.

  • Leads related maintenance safety and environmental compliance initiatives.

  • Performs sizing and selection of instrumentation and control valves.

  • Owns the process safety information specific to valves and instrumentation.

  • Identifies opportunities for equipment upgrade due to obsolescence or poor performance and drives capital projects appropriately.

  • Leads research and deployment of new E&I technologies where applicable to achieve safety or business goals.

  • Leads predictive & preventative instrumentation and electrical programs.

  • Develops specifications for new or revised equipment to match required process application performance.

  • Provide technical support to operations, maintenance and capital projects as needed.

  • Owns the predictive/preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems which include MCCs, switch racks, breakers, starters, transformers, and power distribution both in tray and underground.

  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, regulations and end user requirements.

  • Ensures conformance to design, equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

  • Creates, updates and reviews relevant maintenance procedures as required.

  • Based on asset criticality, determines stock and non-stock spare parts.

  • Works with the drafting group to ensure E&I drawings are kept accurate.

  • Coordinates and directs E&I contractors.

  • Work with stakeholders on scope development and equipment specification for capital projects.

  • Owns the training program for required electrical safety training.

  • Provides guidance to the maintenance technicians on troubleshooting and resolving difficult problems.

Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or AS degree in Electrical Engineering plus 10 years related

experience

  • Minimum of 5 years applicable experience in the duties defined above in a chemical or refinery plant
