Highlights of Medical Assistant Position:
Seeking a full time, Monday- Friday, Medical Assistant. Applicants need to have; excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, strong people skills, critical thinking skills and excellent computer skills. They should be; familiar with medical terminology, detail oriented, and able to travel to various satellites offices.
- Perform patient intake, prep patient for surgery and assist the MD in all MOHS surgeries, repairs
- Explain procedures, address any questions or concerns and help the patient feel at ease prior to the procedure
- Dermatology office - Room intake patients, chart for PA/NP
- Instrument processing - washing, packaging, and sterilizing
- EMR entry, handle all lab requirements for your patient
- Mohs Clinic - Prepare and set up medical supplies and equipment for procedures
Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Summary: Assist Providers with Clinic related patient care.
Duties: Assist with treatments and procedures under the supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant.
Specific Tasks:
- Documents patient complaints and medical history in EHR
- Prepares patients for exams, procedures and surgery
- Directly assists the Provider with patient care including examinations, procedures and surgery
- Provides patient education and instruction
Responsible for:
- making referrals to other facilities and physicians
- calling patients regarding pathology results, lab results, physician instructions, follow up appointments, referrals, etc as directed by provider
- completing prior authorization and pre-certification requirements for prescription medications
- calling approved prescriptions to various pharmacies to include any necessary insurance company authorization requirements
- cleanliness of immediate work area and sterilization of instruments
- maintenance, stocking and cleanliness of various specialty areas and equipment (autoclave room), exam rooms, surgery rooms, nursing and physician station and medical supply area
- maintaining supplies in specific work areas.
Participates in the training of other clinic staff as needed
Presents a professional attitude that creates a positive first impression of the clinic as well as promotes compassion and a strong respect for patient dignity
Maintains patient confidentiality in and out of work
Refers all problems or complaints directly to the Clinic Manager
