Job Summary:

Assist in oversight of all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs in our Middletown, NY facility.

This position is a Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in oversight of all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, including but not limited to providing Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) technical knowledge and assistance to facility leaders and employees for projects, changes and upgrades requiring resourcefulness, teamwork and building relationships and partnerships with other functional team leaders and project managers to achieve effective results.

  • Assist in projects to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” program(s) and monitors critical components such as critical machine guarding compliance, electrical safe work practices, confined space entry process, lock out tag out process.

  • Helps maintains an up-to-date emergency response procedure – runs the drills (plant evacuation, medical emergency drills, weather events, etc.) and is active team member during crises.

  • Participates in incident investigations of accidents, and near misses to help identify root causes, track trends, and ensures corrective actions are implemented and sustained.

  • Collects, tracks, and presents data in areas of safety, health and environmental and assist to ensure accurate and complete Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) reporting of metrics and closure of regulatory agency findings as directed.

  • Assist in auditing the facilities to ensure and safe and compliant workplace.

  • Assist with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance programs, including, but not limited to: PPE, Machine Safety, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Blood Borne Pathogen, Foot Protection and Eye Protection, Confined Space, Contractor Safety and Hazard Communication

  • Presents Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Training for New Hires and other trainings as needed.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma with EHS Professional Certifications and 2 years’ Environmental, Health and Safety experience in manufacturing

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree related to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and 1 year Environmental, Health and Safety experience in manufacturing.

  • Bachelor degree related to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and 6 months Environmental, Health and Safety experience in manufacturing.

  • Experience working with EHS management systems, environmental permitting, and OSHA, EPA, NYDEC standards.

  • Continuous improvement professional certifications

    Additional information:

  • Normal schedule Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM with the flexibility to work overtime, off shifts and weekends as needed.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is $23.85 to $34.96 ; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
