Madison Area YMCA Aquatics Safety & Deck Coordinator in Madison, New Jersey

The Aquatic Safety & Deck Supervisor supervises the medical service and aquatic activities for all Madison Area YMCA Quest Camps both at Drew University and the YMCA Family Center. Summer camp dates are June 24th through August 29th, 2024. The Aquatic Safety Supervisor will:Review and record health and safety procedures and drills. Ensure all camper medication is properly collected and stored upon camper arrival. Respond to emergencies appropriately. Maintain health records of campers.Inventory and restock PPE and First Aid Supplies.Administer medication when/where needed. Work with the Association Camp Director and Camp Coordinator to create and implement impromptu activities as needed.The Aquatic Deck Supervisor will:Review and record health and safety procedures and drills.Supervise all lifeguards and swim instructors. Record and maintain swim progression and levels.Create and implement the curriculum for swim instructors.Respond to emergencies appropriately.All Staff will:Be paid a competitive wage.Attend 40 hours of mandatory training June 17th through June 21st, 2024. Work up to 40 hours per week, days and times may vary. Be eligible for a 10 week stay cash incentive. Apply now if you: Are certified or will become certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and AED, and/or EMT-B.Are certified or will become a certified Lifeguard.Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.One season of experience working with youth in a camp setting. YMCA aquatics experience preferred.Workings Conditions: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions including heat in excess of 90F, high humidity, and rain. Ability to be in water/pool for extended periods of time.Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time. Must be able to life and carry food and supplies weight up to 50 pounds.Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, walking, and hiking on uneven surfaces.Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.Comfortable administering first aid and exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases is possible.
