**What You'll Do

**

The Project Reunite Family Advocate will complete intakes and eligibility criteria for our transitional housing program. The Family Advocate will provide structured, goal-oriented casework for families in the program that are currently in the DCFY system working towards family reunification. They will provide supportive services for family member(s) overcoming substance use disorder challenges, as well as other supportive services, while in our transitional housing program.

Expectations of your role:

    • Provides casework for transitional housing clients at Trinity Place site with level of contact at the designated number of hours per week per client
    • Assesses the physical, emotional, educational and emergency needs of clients with the goals of emotional and economic stability
    • Assists clients to determine, develop and carry out individual goals with an emphasis on self-sufficiency and monitors sobriety goals.
    • Assists clients to form short and long range financial plans and a realistic budget
    • Assists clients in following program guidelines
    • Assists clients to become knowledgeable of appropriate financial resources
    • Arranges necessary contracts, letters or communications with other agencies or individuals to assist clients in securing income, emotional and housing stability
    • Networks with other service providers to advocate for clients and establish suitable referral systems
    • Provides follow-up case management for exited clients, including tracking for up to 6 months
Must have's to be successful:
  • A minimum of two years of direct social service experience working with low-income and/or homeless families.
  • Knowledge of affordable public and private housing resources in Snohomish County;
  • Must have a valid Washington State driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance
  • Knowledge of and experience as a service provider with any of the following: crisis intervention, victims of domestic violence, child abuse, substance abuse, mental health, welfare rights, case management, sexual assault, employment services, child development, and positive parenting skills
Hours, Rate, and Benefits
  • Hourly Rate/Salary: $23.00-$25.00
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Excellent benefits package including medical insurance, retirement plan, plus generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave plans
  • At the time of hire, employees may enroll voluntarily in the Fidelity 403b Plan
  • After two years of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the YWCA Retirement Fund
