The General Counsel will

• provide cross-functional advice on a broad range of legal, regulatory and compliance matters, with a focus on commercial, IPR and corporate law, as well as litigation and HR matters both in a national and an international context.
• develop and support the Group's compliance and insurance program, including policies, trainings and risk assessments.
• monitor the legal and regulatory landscape, while anticipating changing regulations and policies and their impact on Permobil.
• provide advice to all levels of the organization onlegal issues to develop the best possible legal strategies on pending and threatened litigations or other legal risks.
• be a member of the global Group Legal and Risk team andthe regional senior leadership group.
• oversee and develop the legal team as well as the legalfunction, including budget, increasing efficiencies across the function, and use of outside counsel when necessary.

Qualified candidates will possess

• 10-15 years of experience through a combination of a well-regarded law firm and in-house (corporate legal department) experience, preferably with medical devices or similar regulated business on an international basis.
• A broad base of legal knowledge in multiple practice areas including compliance, litigation, corporate governance, employment law, IP law, commercial transactions, MandA and regulatory matters. Product liability experience is preferred, and a deep understanding of business transactions is a requirement.
• A proven track record of confronting complex legal and compliance matters with significant financial and business impact and managing them to a successful resolution.
• Experience in navigating in a global fast paced organization with the skills and the ability to interact with all levels within a geographically diverse organization.

Preferred location of the role is Nashville, Tennessee.
