Direct Wire & Cable Inc. Material Handler (1st shift) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Direct Wire & Cable is currently hiring *1st shift Material Handler *to join our team. As a Material Handler, you'll play a crucial role in our operations at Direct Wire. Your responsibilities will be coordinating and organizing raw materials, supplies, and equipment at our D2 Production Facility. This role will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with cross-training and communication within the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and stage raw materials, reels, pallets, and other essential supplies in the appropriate areas on the production floor. This involves managing the queue for copper, reels, pallets, and other manufacturing supplies.
  • Perform inspections and maintain records for forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring that supplies are placed efficiently in the warehouse on pallet racks.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in cross-training and actively communicate with team members to facilitate smooth operations.

Job Requirements: Education and skills requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret routine instructions.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to problem-solve in an industrial environment.
  • Competence in operating material movement and packaging equipment
  • Ability to represent the company professionally both within and outside of the organization.
  • Enjoy being part of a team and working in a cooperative environment.
