Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Lakewood, New Jersey

Description

We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Ocean County, New Jersey. This role is integral to our team, as you will be responsible for collecting and verifying timekeeping information, processing payroll, and responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our employees receive accurate and timely remuneration, and you will be a key contact for any payroll-related questions.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, verify, and input timekeeping information into payroll systems

• Incorporate various deductions into a periodic payroll

• Issue pay and pay-related information to employees

• Provide assistance to employees and department directors with payroll inquiries

• Monitor payroll customer service phone line and respond to issues or questions promptly

• Compile wage information reports for internal and external requests, including audit requests

• Utilize Accounting Software Systems for payroll processing

• Administer 401k - RRSP Administration

• Maintain accurate records

• Perform other accounting functions as necessary

• Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll using payroll software

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential.

• Ability to handle Accounting Functions is crucial.

• Experience in processing bi-weekly and weekly payroll is desired.

• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining a high level of accuracy.

• Proven ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.

• Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations is required.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary.
