Position Summary:

Develops, maintains and conducts managed care education for new and existing UT Physicians (UTP) clinic staff and other departments on request, including/not limited to education on: Managed Care 101 (Basics), current managed care contracts, Workers' Compensation, Payer Plan Reference Tool, and other managed care tools.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Assigns IDs and passwords for all managed care payer portals to UTP clinic staff, UTP business partners, Revenue Cycle, and other departments as appropriate. Troubleshoots portal and access issues.

  • Schedules and conducts onsite managed care training for UTP clinic staff, at least quarterly, and makes recommendations for managed care process improvement.

  • Conducts New Employee Orientation Managed Care training in-person or virtually, on request.

  • Serves as managed care liaison for UTP clinic staff, UTP business partners, Revenue Cycle, and other departments as appropriate.

  • Assists Manager in developing new managed care training, policies and procedures, newsletters, and other training materials consistent with process improvement initiatives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • Ability to manage/prioritize a large number of projects and demands simultaneously.

  • Good communication, critical thinking, customer service and computer skills.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years of job-related experience required.

  • Experience in employee training and development, healthcare, or managed care preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount frequently to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
