Good News Home Inc. Behavioral Health Technician in Flemington, New Jersey

Good News Home Inc. is a nonprofit organization that serves up to 12 women at a time. We provide residential short-term, long-term care, and aftercare. The Behavioral Health Technician works directly with the clients to meet their daily needs in a safe and secure environment and to support the clinical staff. They are responsible for providing direct support to up to 12 adult female clients who are in a residential substance abuse treatment facility.Duties and Responsibilities•Conducts house checks every two hours to ensure that clients are involved in program activities or otherwise productively engaged.•Transports clients to group meetings, church services, and/or other outside activities as required.•Accurately make daily log entries and any other client issues or concerns.•Promptly and accurately report any issues or concerns regarding clients to the Lead Behavioural Health Monitor and/or Clinical Staff. Transmits daily emails to the Clinical Team regarding any incidents during shift.•Conducts drug tests as scheduled.•Attends staff training and meetings as scheduled and other duties as assigned.•Provide verbal shift reports to relief staff.•Ensure all house rules are enforced.Requirements and Qualifications•A High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.•Valid driver’s license•Self-motivated and requiring minimal supervision•Experience working in a group home environment•Two (2) years of substance abuse and/or mental health experience is helpful•Ability to exercise good judgment and boundaries•Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals with respect.•Proficient in office software including Word, Excel, and Internet use.Benefits•Medical and Dental Insurance•401K•Paid vacation and personal time off•Free classes are offered to those who wish to establish a career in addiction counseling.Federal Student Loan Borrowers•Good News Home is a nonprofit organization and is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC).
