Primary Purpose of Position:

The Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator (with support from the Sitel Leadership Team/Environmental, Health and Safety Manager) is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of processes to maintain environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance and to continuously reduce EHS risk. This position will provide EHS expertise relating to applicable regulations, controls and state-of-the art methods of EHS management.

The incumbent will manage relevant data to ensure all required reporting and communication to regulators is complete and accurate. He/She will maintain ISO 14001 and 450001 certification by implementing improvements in facility management systems, internal environmental audits, corrective action plans and continuous improvement activities. This associate will track, trend and report on EHS-related key performance indicators (KPIs).

This role will build EHS capability within the site, to include EHS management system element owners/members of EHS element teams/subcommittees. Build and leverage relationships with formal/informal leaders to drive EHS down, up and across the organization.

He/She will implement programs that drive cultural change (ergonomics, target zero, PEC management system).

In addition, this associate will prepare/maintain incident, training and safety (leading/lagging indicator) records/reports. As well as responsibility of the facility (resource/process management, supplier and contractor management, project management). Primary facility duties/responsibilities include: maintenance, project management, design, installation and modification of new/existing equipment and buildings/facilities. Execute EHS&S initiative

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a deep-level understanding of existing environmental permit requirements. Ensure required activities are performed and data is accurate/organized/maintained/reported (as required). Ensure compliance with government regulations

  • Provide guidance in the areas of isolation/control of hazardous energy (i.e, lockout/tagout), electrical safety, machine guarding, ergonomics, industrial hygiene and hazard communication/chemical management (in addition to other safety media)

  • Identify opportunities to enhance EHS compliance and reduce risk. Develop, implement and monitor action plans. Coordinate activities to include hearing conservation, respiratory protection, x-ray, sampling strategy/plans and overall associate health (in relation to proving grounds process). Manage the worker’s compensation process and insure accurate/timely reporting of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) incidents (including all associated documentation).

  • Develop/Conduct/Coordinate/Implement a wide-variety of training programs for all associates (covering technical/administrative areas). Be a resource to all employees/supervisors to develop program

  • Coordinate safety program activities (including code of federal regulations [CFR] interpretations, safety procedure creation/revision, statistical analysis, safety process auditing/guidance) to achieve safety goals.

  • Establish/Maintain comprehensive industrial health/safety records to demonstrate improvements in safety performance.

  • Prepare/Implement corrective actions to counter unsatisfactory trends. Prepare safety/health awareness, education and training programs. Faithfully execute the PEC management system pillar systems (includes conducting monthly meetings, follow-ups and other action items). Track, trend and report identified KPIs to site/corporate leadership

  • Inspect and audit EHS-related processes/equipment – Track, trend and report results.

Education :

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental and/or Health and Safety or in lieu of a degree 5 more years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety field

Experience:

  • Education or experience in Environmental Management

  • Experience implementing safety processes and programs

  • Experience tracking, trending and reporting environmental, health and safety related data

  • Experience influencing and selling ideas

  • 3 or more years of experience in EHS – desired

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health and safety regulations

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal/written)

  • Ability to effectively communicate at various levels of the organization

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Proficient in Excel
