The Field Installation Service Technician IV will assist in the sales and support functions and be the “point person” and liaison on major projects that are set-up and installed by United Rentals Fluid Solutions. Lead crews on the set-up and installation of complex by-pass and de-watering projects; assure that specifications are followed; instruct and train the customer and crew on the proper operation and maintenance of each system.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the product team and other IT groups in an agile framework to analyze requirements, determine scope, estimate tasks, document, develop, test, deploy and maintain solutions.

  • Partner with sales team and United Rentals Dewatering Representative to participate in pre-sale, bid and post-sale activities to secure complex by-pass, de-watering and similar projects that call for United Rentals line of equipment and functional expertise.

  • Serve as the lead in the set-up and installation phase(s) of key projects and participate and direct the proper set-up of pumps and related equipment and customer job-sites.

  • Complete timely documentation of field reports, daily jobsite reports, timesheets, JSA’s, and other safety related documentation is required.

  • Supervise labor on the jobsite, direct their work and manage their activity within the scope of the specific job.

  • Operate the equipment and tools necessary to prepare job-sites, to include fusion machines, lulls, bobcats, wellpoint drill and related equipment.

  • Train and instruct others on the proper operation and maintenance of installed systems with an emphasis on environmental, health and safety issues related to each project.

  • Assure that equipment is properly working in accordance with specifications and United Rentals qualitative standards before equipment is delivered and picked up.

  • Conduct minor service and repairs.

  • Cross-sell and increase margins.

  • Safely operate various trucks including ½ ton through tractor-trailers to deliver and pick up equipment and material to and from customer jobsites and United Rentals locations.

  • Deliver and pick up loads as assigned in a courteous and timely manner.

  • Loads and unloads truck.

  • Properly securing loads onto trucks and trailers.

  • Completes all paperwork, to include termination tickets, accurately and verifies that load is checked for accuracy.

  • Maintains truck log, trip sheets, inspection reports and other documentation according to state and federal regulations and internal policies and procedures.

  • Reports any vehicle functioning problems to the Service manager and/or the Branch Manager and inform Service Manager and/or Branch Manager of service required to vehicle.

  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water and completes daily inspection reports.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required; graduate of a technical/vocational training program is preferred

  • Industry Certification preferred

  • Follow all safety regulations at all work areas and job sites

  • Respectful, honest, and courteous manner with customers and team

  • Responsible for professional levels of quality and quantity of work

  • Must have good working knowledge of D.C. electrical systems and troubleshooting

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshooting guides

  • Work productively in teams as well as individually

  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable laws, FMCSR and DOT rules and regulations

  • Must be able to obtain TWIC Card, Rapid Gate Pass, MICC and any other documentation for accessing work sites on military bases and or industrial sites

  • Must have and maintain minimum supply of own tools, both metric and standard

  • Primary work environment is on construction jobsites

  • May be required to spray paint pump units

  • Perform mechanic or yard duties as required when not busy in field

  • May be required to work overtime according to the Production schedule

  • Position requires extensive overnight travel

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
