Sargent Electric Site Safety Coordinator in Columbus, Ohio

We are looking for an experienced SITE SAFETY COORDINATOR based out of our Columbus, OH office.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The safety coordinator will provide day-to-day direction, leadership, coaching, and sound judgment to eliminate or reduce at-risk environments and behaviors in the workplace.

  • Assists management and supervision in inspection of workplaces to ensure safe and healthful conditions for the employees.  These operations include substation and mass battery storage system construction.

  • Assists and conducts all necessary training related to the OSHA construction standards as well as the Sargent Electric Safety Program.

  • Conducts accident investigations to discover root causal factors and implement action items to avoid reoccurrence.

  • New employee onboarding will be the responsibility of the Safety Coordinator.

  • Assume any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electric Management.

    SKILLS:

  • Excellent written communication skills.  Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to type.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individuals.

  • Works efficiently under tight time frames, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player. 

  • Understands the importance of being able to multi-task.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety and Heath (or similar field).

  • Fluency in CFR 1910/1926.

  • 3-5 years' experience in a safety management role.

  • Familiarity with hazards associated with electrical installations.

  • Strong planning, prioritizing, and presentation skills.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • OSHA 500 Outreach Instructor

  • CHST, CUSP, ASP, CSP certifications
