Focus on the Family Marketing Specialist 1- Marriage/Advocacy in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Marketing Specialist 1 – Marriage/Advocacy position exists to provide marketing support to the Marketing team to include project management, marketing plan assistance, schedule adherence, inter-department communication, tactical implementation, events, conference marketing support and plan entries into the Aprimo system to track approvals and deadlines.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides support in the development of marketing plans to include writing basic plans, schedule adherence, tactical implementation, and follow-up on plan elements, preparing plan calendars, reporting on plan status and exceptions, and distribution of final plan (internal and external) to key stakeholders

  • Enters marketing plan activities (e.g., plan elements, advertisements, cover images/artwork, direct marketing, etc.) into the Aprimo system making sure that the needed approvals are obtained, and deadlines are met. Gathers necessary information from members of the marketing strategy team and other internal and external stakeholders. Tracks projects all the way to completion

  • Works cross- departmentally to get a job done, clearly communicating the milestones for a project, following through in a timely manner on all assigned parts of a project, promptly responding to requests for information

  • Conducts research for competitive analysis, SWOT analysis etc. to ensure we are hitting the right core audience, maximizing our ROI potential, and ministry impact

  • Assists in the planning and preparation of various on-site partner and other inter-departmental meetings (e.g., agendas, assignment follow-up etc.). Takes notes of action items, decisions, and other issues for follow-up in meetings as assigned. Follows up on assignments given

  • Works with Content Creators to provide resource marketing assistance as needed

  • Identifies areas for growth and creates strategic product line roadmaps to help drive acceptance of the product and differentiating features

  • Analyzes, tracks and reports on event ROI based on predetermined pipeline, revenue, and MQL metrics using CRM, email marketing, project management, and similar systems

  • Is responsible for ordering and tracking event inventory including collateral, giveaways, etc.

  • Assists in preparing work orders, purchase orders, etc. identifying needed budget for plan activities. Makes sure department has most current budget information. Works with Business Affairs department, Legal and other stakeholders to help coordinate budget and contractual issues

  • Serves as a point of contact for inquiries (from both internal and external contacts) to the Resource Marketing department related to marketing plans and other requests ensuring that an answer is provided in a timely way

  • Assists in maintaining effective internal client (e.g., content, audience, brand, legal, orthodoxy etc.), communication building trust and credibility and addressing questions or concerns in a timely way

  • Reviews packaging, promotional copy, and other communication materials for accuracy recommending changes as needed

  • Continues to look for innovative ways to develop better internal communication related to FOF resources. Develops and executes routine internal marketing plans to inspire and inform FOF employees about FOF resources.

  • Works with Sr. Director, Sr. Manager and Master Scheduler and aids in the tracking and communication of organizational monthly marketing priorities

  • Provides Director with up-to-date, weekly status reports of all initiatives

  • Interfaces with Business Services team as needed for scheduling, budget, contract, purchasing, and reporting

  • Coordinates benevolent materials sent to various departments, or constituents for various promotional campaigns (e.g., social media contests, influencers, endorsements, etc.)

  • Assists in the creation of necessary reports tracking impact of annual programs (works with Business Services to update and report goals, forecasts, and project needs)

  • Maintains and updates social networking outlets by adding new informative content and relevant videos

  • Oversees quarterly special projects from start to finish, including the organizing of the marketing plan, tactics, and messaging through the promotional channels needed, including direct marketing, an external media buy, web banners, internal marketing allocation, analyzing and reporting.

  • Editing and updating Marriage Related Websites and Landing Pages ensuring CTA, messaging, and image alignment to maximize the target audience’s engagement level and conversion rate which translates to sustainable file health and long-term constituent value for the ministry

    Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Limited travel, as needed, to conferences, representing Focus and its resources to a greater audience

  • Manages the arrangements for travel needs of shipments and staff as needed

  • Assists in managing student Interns and volunteers

  • Prepares and submits travel expense reports for department (using the Concur reporting software)

  • Shares the responsibility of general administrative duties for the Resource Marketing area

  • Performs other duties as assigned

    Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Fast-paced office environment with constantly changing priorities

  • This role may require occasional travel including nights and weekends

    Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or Business or related experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in advertising, marketing, or communications with proven project management skills

  • Exposure to basic marketing principles

  • Christian Media/Publishing experience preferred

  • Computer proficiency in a variety of Windows-based and Mac office software

  • Experience in giving presentations and public communication preferred

  • Knowledge of digital communication tools and social media platforms

  • Strong interpersonal, management reporting, and presentation skills

    Stewardship Requirements:

  • Ability to remain within budget assigned for projects, recognizing stewardship responsibility of donor resources

    Pay Range: $24.00 to $27.50/hr
