RCS is seeking aCyber Security Project Engineerwith expertise in technical risk analysis across various technological domains including enterprise and mission systems, IT networks, mobile and wireless networks, cloud computing, and network management platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in software development and be capable of maintaining online infrastructures, extracting pertinent data, and coding software applications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cyber security and software development.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical risk assessments and offer guidance on risk mitigation strategies for various enabling technologies.

  • Gather and assess artifacts such as CONOPS, network diagrams, and technical design details to understand the technology's implementation and assess associated risks comprehensively.

  • Utilize investigative practices to identify threats and vulnerabilities systematically.

  • Evaluate system/network operations using management platforms, scanning tools, and log reviews.

  • Analyze system configurations, hardware, and software for vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies to identify associated risks.

  • Provide guidance on cyber threats and advise decision-makers on risk mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure risk mitigation considerations are incorporated early in the development cycle.

  • Organize and manage workload effectively, providing regular progress updates.

  • Work with cloud environments such as AWS, Oracle, Google, Microsoft Azure, and IBM.

  • Support application implementation, design, enhancements, and long-term maintenance.

  • Design and develop applications in a web environment.

  • Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.

  • Conduct testing, debugging, and quality assurance.

  • Play a significant role in implementing mission-enabling applications.

    Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in analyzing IT systems for cyber security vulnerabilities.

  • Experience in IT system/network architecture design, IP data flow analysis, encryption configuration, and vulnerability analysis.

  • Familiarity with various communication protocols and operating systems including Windows, Linux, and OSX.

  • Expertise in cloud computing technologies and hypervisors.

  • Experience in technical risk assessments and procurement processes.

  • Strong written communication skills.

  • CISSP Certification.

  • Proficiency in front-end web development tools and languages such as JavaScript, JSON, and TypeScript.

  • Experience with integrated development environments (IDEs) like Visual Studio.

  • Familiarity with RESTful interfaces and Linux/Unix environments.

  • Experience with Apache server and redundant application hosting.

  • Experience with strongly typed programming languages.

  • Demonstrated experience in software development.

    Highly Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Familiar with IT review boards and security policies.

  • Experience with USG standards such as ICD 503, FIPS, and NIST SPs.

  • Certifications: CISM, Certified Ethical Hacker.

  • Experience with Java, Spring, and Apache Tomcat.

  • Familiarity with continuous integration systems (Jenkins) and issue tracking tools like JIRA.

  • Experience in delivering solutions with cloud services.

  • Certifications: AWS Certification or similar.
