This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the legal team and contribute to BT Business. As a lawyer, you will be involved in product launches, strategic partnerships, and projects aimed at delivering better outcomes for our customers. Working closely with stakeholders, you will provide legal advice and support across various business areas.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead legal aspects of product launches, drafting terms and conditions, reviewing contracts, and identifying legal risks.

  • Support projects to enhance contracting models and terms, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

  • Assist in negotiating partnership contracts and supply agreements, driving strategic partnerships forward.

  • Provide clear and pragmatic legal guidance to stakeholders, helping them understand legal risks and opportunities.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders on legal matters, including disputes, regulatory projects, and legislative changes.

  • Develop and comply with legal and compliance policies, promoting a culture of compliance and risk management.

  • Influence strategic approaches for projects and partnerships, working closely with business leads.

  • Manage external legal providers and ensure effective risk management across Business.

  • Promote legal and commercial awareness, providing training and support to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance teams on cross-functional initiatives.

  • Build effective relationships with stakeholders, understanding their business goals and strategies.

  • Contribute to the Legal, Regulatory & Compliance team's strategy and initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory restrictions, competition laws, and BT policies.

The skills you need

  • Proven experience in commercial law, especially in the Telecoms and Technology sectors.

  • Self-motivated with drive and enthusiasm, able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Passionate about innovation and creativity, with strong communication and analytical skills.

  • Business acumen and understanding of organisational performance drivers.

  • Attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues.

  • Pragmatic and solutions-driven approach to problem-solving.

Professional Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Lawyer with a minimum of 2 years PQE or proven relevant experience.
