Summary

Specialty Pharmacy Services supports a growing list of patient populations, including Transplant, Hepatitis, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatology, and Oncology. Our team is dedicated to supporting our patients comprehensively throughout their entire treatment process. We strive to do so by providing timely and continuous financial counseling, clinical education, and mail-order medication deliveries.

Specialty Pharmacy Technicians work within either the Call Center or Distribution Operations. Requirements, duties, and responsibilities align respectively. Cross coverage and movement between teams is possible dependent on departmental and patient care needs.

Responsibilities*

  • Provide top notch customer service through an inbound/outbound call center environment. Demonstrate customer service excellence in answering incoming phones and retrieval of voicemail messages.

  • Efficiently perform general office duties, including faxing, imaging documents, mail sorting and delivery.

  • Route correspondences between teams. May include utilizing including efficient use of the electronic health record system in-boxes, email, fax, etc.

  • Document all patient interactions in appropriate systems and databases.

  • Act as the liaison between teams to ensure timely patient care.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proficient communication and computer skills are necessary.

  • Reliability and punctuality are a must.

  • Must adhere to a high standard of personal and professional conduct; possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; and demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population.

  • Must be an active team player with the ability to work independently; possess strong organization and prioritization skills; ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast paced environment and demonstrated problem solving skills.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Call center and clerical experience in a healthcare environment.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

  • Knowledge of retail or mail-order pharmacy environments.

  • MiChart, QS1, Jabber/Finesse, Microsoft Suite program knowledge.

Work Schedule

This is a day shift position Monday through Friday with business hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed weekends and holidays. Subject to change based on departmental needs

Work Locations

This position is located at Specialty Pharmacy Services on Joy Rd in Dexter, MI. Potential for hybrid scheduling after completion of onsite-only training period. Hybrid schedule is set by leadership and subject to change based on departmental needs.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
